Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Policy
As Özpancar İplik Tekstil, the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Policy we have adopted is based on respect for people and their environment. OHS at Özpancar İplik Tekstil Sanayi ve Ticaret LTD. ŞTİ is guided by the principle that improving occupational health and safety is a shared responsibility of all employees, and it strives to instill OHS as a cultural value within the organization. We prioritize the prevention of workplace accidents, actively involve employees in risk assessment and risk reduction activities, and are committed to continuously improving our OHS culture to achieve the sustainable goal of “Zero Workplace Accidents.”
In line with this commitment, we aim to:
- Take all necessary measures in the workplace and its premises to ensure the health and safety of our employees, subcontractors, visitors, and company personnel working off-site, in accordance with current OHS regulations and other requirements, and provide and enforce the use of tools, equipment, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Identify and eliminate unsafe conditions and actions that may lead to occupational accidents or work-related diseases by conducting effective risk assessments of potential hazards in the workplace and its premises.
- Detect risks that could cause occupational accidents or work-related diseases, ensuring the health, safety, and social well-being of employees, visitors, and subcontractors at all levels, thereby reducing potential material and moral losses for them and their families.
- Train our employees in occupational health and safety and foster strong awareness and understanding of OHS principles.
- Ensure that subcontractors and visitors comply with OHS rules defined by Özpancar İplik Tekstil, monitor the OHS performance of contractors under our OHS Management System, and implement improvements as needed.
- Continuously review and improve our situation by anticipating future scenarios in line with the development of the industrial world.
- Create healthy and safe working conditions following the approach of zero workplace accidents and zero occupational diseases.
- Detect and eliminate hazards, risks, and near-miss situations in the work environment.
- Facilitate necessary communication activities to understand the needs and expectations of our employees and relevant stakeholders regarding OHS.
- Continuously improve OHS performance using the best available technologies.
- Plan proactively for potential emergencies and take preventive measures.
- Provide opportunities for all necessary OHS trainings and monitor their effectiveness.
- Promote lessons learned and best practices across all our workplaces.
- Identify OHS opportunities and integrate them into our processes and practices for evaluation.
- Set measurable targets to achieve successful OHS performance, create action plans, and track progress.
- Establish a culture where safe and healthy working habits are internalized and provide the necessary resources to support this culture.
- Ensure the participation of all organizational levels and stakeholders, and base our OHS activities on continuous improvement.
